Sierra Hall is one of our upperclassman/transfer residence halls. It is available ONLY to students who have already lived in a residence hall for one year, are over the age of 20, or of sophomore status. This is the most popular residence hall with our returning and transfer students who are looking for accommodations with a private bathroom. It is 7 stories tall and houses 217 residents.

Sierra Hall has five difference room types. These are the double options offered for residents of Sierra. The Large double is the same rate as Canada Hall, while the Standard Double is the lowest rate offered and the same rate as Nye, Juniper, Lincoln, White Pine and Manzanita. Residents also have the option of taking the Standard Double (2 per room) as a Premium Single (1 per room) at a premium rate.

Both of Sierra Hall double rooms (Large & Standard) are same-sex by room. Furniture in the room includes a bookcase, desk, dresser, and a bunkable 80 inch bed. This picture features one of our more popular single rooms.

Sierra Hall is the only building which offers single occupancy rooms (1 student per room) with private bathrooms. Students have the option of a single room or a premium single room. Residents also have the option of taking the premium single as a standard double (2 per room) at our lowest housing rate. Both singles rooms and premium single rooms are available in limited quantities, however there is a greater number of premium singles than singles.

This is one of our most popular rooms the premium single. Students get the benefit of having a double occupancy room as a single with a private bathroom! This hall is the only place you will find a double occupancy room being giving to students as singles.

Sierra Hall also has a few suite style options called Premium Doubles. These rooms are two room suites with private bathrooms. Premium Doubles are ONLY available in Sierra Hall and have a very limited quantity.

Of course all rooms in Sierra Hall come with their own private bathroom complete with a shower! Even our single and premium single rooms have their own bathrooms.

On the third floor of Sierra Hall is a vend-a-card operated laundry facility that includes multiple washers and dryers. It is open 24 hours a day to all Sierra Hall residents and every semester Nevada Housing hosts a free laundry weekend.

Also unique to Sierra hall, the entire 2nd floor features a multi-purpose area with the residence halls have many large programs. In this photo the room is setup for a "human board game" program!

Although, programs and social events do happen in this space its primary use is a surround sound theatre! This feature is one of the most utilized features in Sierra Hall.

Perhaps one of the most attractive parts of the building is the views. Half of the rooms in the building face south for breathtaking views of the lights of downtown Reno.
