Resident/Community Assistant and Academic Mentor Recruitment 2013-2014

Thank you for your interest in the Resident Assistant (RA), Community Assistant (CA), and Academic Mentor positions at Nevada! A Residential Life Student Staff position is a unique opportunity to develop strong leadership skills while assisting fellow students with transition, building community, academics, diversity and involvement.

Here you should be able to find all the information you will need to know about our positions and the recruitment process. It is our hope that you will apply to be a Student Staff Member and find the following weeks to be a rewarding and enriching experience.

Minimum Qualifications to Apply

  • Applicants must be a full-time student in good university standing
  • Applicants must be in good disciplinary standing with the university
  • Applicants must meet eligibility for living in the residence halls
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.70 (3.0 for Academic Mentors) at time of application,
  • Applicants must be able to have a minimum of 2 semesters of college coursework completed by the time of employment

February 16 RA/CA Carousel - Candidates will participate in a half-day group process
February 18-22 Interviews - Selected Academic Mentor candidates will participate in an interview with Residential Life staff and the Tutoring Center
February 21-22 Interviews - RA/CA candidates will participate in an interview with Residential Life staff
March 15 Decisions letters available at the RLHFS office - Juniper Hall, 8am-5pm
