All Honors Program graduates are encouraged to remain involved with the Program. Being part of our Honors Program alum network is a great way to stay connected with student life, activities, events, mentoring opportunities, and special programs. 2015 Officers Elected
Three graduates of the Honors Program were recently elected as officers of the Honors Alum Chapter: President Riley Carroll, Vice-President Reena Spansail, and Treasurer Joe Ward. We look forward to seeing you at the Pack Picnic this summer (see below), and events we are planning for Las Vegas, Reno, and possibly the Bay Area in fall 2015! 2015 Pack Picnic on the Quad
Come join the Honors Alum Chapter officers, current Honors staff and students, and Honors faculty for our annual Pack Picnic Sponsorship. This summer, it will be on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, and feature local artists JellyBread. Stop by starting at 6:00 PM to reconnect with your classmates and hear all the newest Honors details!
2014 Pack Picnic on the Quad
Over 20 Honors students, faculty, and administrators joined our Alum Chapter on July 23rd, 2014 for the annual Pack Picnic on the Quad, featuring Whitney Myer. This year, the Honors table was in front of the Mackay Science Building, and we had a great time serving popcorn, cookies, and lemonade to everyone enjoying the concert on the Quad!
2013 Pack Picnic on the Quad
Some 20 Honors students and alum joined our Alum Chapter on August 8th, 2013 for the annual Pack Picnic on the Quad, featuring a local band, fun for the whole family and opportunities to reconnect with former and current Honors students, including Honors Ambassadors. As every year, we also served lemonade, cookies, and popcorn in front of Morrill Hall.
2012 Pack Picnic on the Quad
Over 15 Honors alum joined the Honors Alum Chapter on August 8th, 2012 for the Alumni Association's Pack Picnic on the Quad, featuring the local band Jelly Bread. The Honors Program served lemonade, cookies, and popcorn on the Quad near Morrill Hall.
2011 Pack Picnic on the Quad
We had a great time at the Alumni Association's Pack Picinic on the Quad on July 20th, 2011! We severed cookies and popcorn to countless children while listening to local band Jellybread. We even had an activity table set up for kids to decorate thank you cards for volunteers. Thank you to everyone who helped out and we look forward to seeing you at the next Honors alum event!
2010 Pack Picnic on the Quad
The Honors Program Alum Chapter co-sponsored this summer's first Pack Picnic on the Quad on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010. This fun-filled evening on UNR's quad featured the eclectic sounds of Reno's own Sol'Jibe. Honors staff, students and alum helped served lemonade, freshly popped popcorn, and cookies to the attendees.
2009 Pack Picnic on the Quad
The Honors Alum Chapter hosted its 2nd annual Pack Picnic on the Quad on Wednesday, July 8th, 2009. Honors alums, students and staff enjoyed cookies, popcorn, watermelon, face painters, and bounce houses while listening to the sounds of the DG KICKS.
2008 Pack Picnic on the Quad
On July 16th, 2008, the Honors Program Alum Chapter hosted the Pack Picnic on the Quad We were were excited to see current Honors students, as well as catch up with many Honors alums and family members! The popcorn was popping, the pink lemonade was flowing, and even President Glick stopped by to say hello!

Honors Program Herz Gold Medal Awardees
Ashish Francis received the University of Nevada, Reno's Herz Gold Medal May 16, during Spring 2009 Commencement ceremonies. Francis, a member of the University's Honor Program, completed his undergraduate academic career with a degree in biochemistry and a cumulative grade-point average of 4.0.
President Milton Glick congratulates Honors Program member Deanne Leonard on winning the Herz Gold Medal during the May 2007 Commencement ceremonies. Leonard has completed her undergraduate academic career with a degree in Psychology and a cumulative grade point average of 4.0.
President Milton Glick with Herz Gold Medal winner Irena Yamboliev at the December 2006 Commencement ceremonies. Yamboliev earned dual degrees in English literature and biology and is a graduate of Wooster High School in Reno. She completed her undergraduate academic career with a cumulative grade-point average of 4.0 and is a member of the Honors Program.
