Honors Societies

Attention: We understand several students have received an invitation to join To be a member, a fee of $50 is required. The website listed in the invitation is This organization is not affiliated with the University of Nevada, Reno, nor is it a part of the UNR Honors Program. The Honors Program recommends that any student who has received such an invitation, and may be considering joining this group, or another group with a similar invitation, to visit the Association of College Honor Societies website at to determine whether the organization which sent you a solicitation is a member of ACHS. The Association of College Honor Societies is an organization that verifies the legitimacy of programs such as those mentioned above. Please consult ACHS whenever you receive a letter inviting you to join this or any similar organizations.

Chapter #008 was chartered and installed at the University of Nevada, Reno in Reno, Nevada in 1912.

Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest, most selective, and most prestigious all-discipline honor society sets high standards for membership. UNR's top 7.5% of second term juniors and top 10% of seniors and graduate students are invited each semester.
