About Jacque
This is my third career. I got bored with the first two after about 10 years, stayed for several more then found something else to do. I guess I have a short attention span. Throughout all my careers, I have learned a number of what I consider basic truths, few of which have anything to do with the career itself.
Basic Truth #1: My family is the most important thing in my life. No career means so much to my sense of self worth that I would risk family for work.
Basic Truth #2: My sense of self worth has more to do with the way I live my life, including how I treat others, than it has to do with the size of my paycheck, my house, or my car. To paraphrase Billy Joel, every morning I wake up with myself.
Basic truth #3: The Good Guys don’t always win. And when we don't, it's important to remain in touch with what is right, and not what feels good.
Basic Truth #4: There's a reason it’s called 'work;' don't confuse it with leisure.
Basic Truth #5: Acquiring things won't make you happy; neither will any external force; "happy" is internal and up to you.
Basic Truth #6: "Stressed" is just "Desserts" spelled backwards; life is short, eat dessert first.
