As the only school of medicine in the state, the University of Nevada School of Medicine has a unique and fundamental mission, providing the state and region with the equally valued and interrelated assets of quality doctors, patient care, education and research. Our school admits 62 students each year, most of whom are Nevada residents. The first two years of the curriculum – the basic science years – are taught at the Reno campus. The third and fourth years – the clinical years – are spent in hospitals and clinics throughout the state. Our medical school gives students the opportunity to interact with patients and physicians throughout the state, work on research projects and experience the excitement of becoming a physician.
