Vice President of Internal Affairs
Tyler Ross serves as the Internal Affairs Vice President of Nevada's Graduate Student Association.
My name is Tyler Ross; I am humbly grateful to represent all graduate students as the Vice President of Internal Affairs for the 2015-2016 school year. Our organizational goals for the coming year focus on collaboration and connection, within each of the programs, between programs, and holistically across campus. I'm currently finishing my second year in the counseling education program, and hope to become a school counselor in the future. I also chair the social events committee, and, in 2015, led a team that successfully brought about the first-ever graduate school dance on the UNR campus. :)
Getting to know me:
I've been working with infants to eleven year-old children for the past 10 years. I have worked in three different national facilities and one international facility, and am currently the recreational director for an after-school program in Truckee, CA.
During my undergrad, I was the elected as the Cultural Affairs Director for the Associated Students at Butte College. I spent a year as resident advisor in Chico, CA, and, in 2011, I spent a summer training under a Theravada Buddhist monk on a 90% sustainable farm before earning my Bachelors of Science in Psychology in 2013.
I admit to not knowing everything, and want to encourage graduate students to come get-to-know me, offer suggestions, and know that their input can be heard and acted upon.
