Outstanding International Graduate Student Scholarship
Program Overview: The Graduate Student Association offers the Outstanding International Graduate Student Scholarship to outstanding, full-time international graduate students. The award is judged strictly upon your personal statement, scholarly work, and extracurricular activities completed during enrollment in your current degree program as a University of Nevada, Reno graduate student. The Outstanding International Graduate Student Scholarship is for $1000, disbursed in two equal payments in Fall 2016 and Spring 2017.
Eligibility: Applicants for this award must be registered, full-time graduate students (9 credits or 6 credits with an assistantship) in good academic standing at the time of application. Applicants must be attending University of Nevada, Reno on a F-1 or J-1 visa. Members of the GSA Executive Council and Awards Committee, and persons involved with the judging process of any GSA awards, are ineligible to apply. Applicants for the Outstanding Graduate Student award may not apply for the Outstanding International Graduate Student award.
Application Instructions: Please submit one copy of your application packet to the GSA Office (JCSU 302, Mail Stop 0057) Your application packet must include the following:
- Completed four-page application
- Unofficial University of Nevada, Reno transcript
- Letter of recommendation from a University of Nevada, Reno faculty member
Applicants must be enrolled for the fall 2015 semester in order to receive the scholarship
