Outstanding Creative Writer
Program Overview: the Graduate Student Association offers the Outstanding Creative Writer award to one exceptional graduate student. The scholarship is for $500, disbursed in two equal payments in Fall 2014 and Spring 2015.
Eligibility: Applicants for this award must be registered, full-time graduate students (9 credits or 6 credits with an assistantship) in good academic standing at the time of application. Members of the GSA Executive Council and Awards Committee, and persons involved with the judging process of any GSA awards, are ineligible to apply.
Application Instructions: Please submit one copy of your application packet to the GSA Office (JCSU 302, Mail Stop 0057). Applications must be submitted to the GSA Office in hard copy. Emails or electronic submissions will not be accepted.Your application packet must include the following:
- Completed Cover Page
- No more than 25 pages of prose, or no more than 10 pages of poetry with no more than one poem per page.
Judging Criteria: A panel of faculty judges will evaluate the submissions and choose a winner based on originality, form, movement, voice, style, mechanics, and overall effect, and their decision is final
