Need-based Programs

College of Education classroom

The Graduate Students Association and the University of Nevada, Reno grants, loans, scholarships and donation programs available to assist students and their programs based on need. Questions may be directed to the Graduate Student Association offices (775-784-4629,

Capital Funds

Grant requests are limited to $5,000 and are only for the one-time purchase of equipment, software and resources


Scholarship amounts up to $500 are available for students with a minimum of 3.0 grade point average.

Computer Loan

Twelve-month loans from $500 to $1500 dollars are available to purchase computer equipment from the Wolf Shop.

Financial Crisis Grant

One time grants of up to $1500 are available for students experiencing sudden and unexpected financial crisis

Household Items Program

The program collects and distributes various furniture items and other household necessities for current graduate students.

Medical Hardship Scholarship

Amounts up to $1000 are available to students who have medical expenses jeopardizing their school enrollment
