GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The Associated Students of the University of Nevada are looking for a full time (20 hours) graduate assistant for ASUN Projects and Support. This position will include insurance and partial tuition, up to 9 credits for Fall & Spring (See the Policy on Graduate Assistantships below).
The Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) is made up of every undergraduate student at the University of Nevada. They provide a means for students to voice concerns and address issues at the university, local, state, national, and international levels. They also provide information to students on upcoming events, student events, student services, clubs, and more. They are committed to enhancing our university and enriching students – just as we have since our inception in 1898.
The GA for ASUN Projects and Support reports to and20works closely with the Associate Director, Marketing and Media, to provide planning, design, installation and maintenance of technology and marketing in support of departmental goals and objectives. The individual works with all technology and marketing initiatives in support of ASUN/Student Activities programs and services.
The GA should have knowledge of:
- Departmental, division, university and higher education policy and procedure
- Student Development theory
- Marketing and Media strategy
- New Media Technology
This position requires vision, energy, flexibility, ability to work nights and weekends, a commitment to ethical and moral leadership development of students, supporting student self direction, self governance and demonstrated leadership abilities.
Required Qualifications
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to a advanced degree-granting program and be in good academic standing. The student must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and must be continuously enrolled in at least 6 graduate level credits (600-700) throughout the duration of the assistantship.
