Formal Sorority Recruitment for Fall 2008
Formal Recruitment occurs August 27 - September 1, 2008. Each night there are various events to attend on campus or with each sorority that is particpating (Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta, Pi Beta Phi, and Sigma Kappa). At these events you will learn more about the sorority and the women you may soon call sisters. It is advised that you arrange to take off work for each of these nights, so you can attend as many events as possible. September 1st is a day event.
To participate in formal recruitment, please follow the steps noted below.
- Complete the SORORITY REGISTSTRATION FORM on line by Wednesday, August 27th. There is a $30 fee for participating in Sorority Recruitment. Please drop your check off at the Greek Life office by Wednesday, August 27, at 4 pm. The office is located in the basement of Clark Administration. The phone number is 784-4306.
- Attend Recruitment Orientation on August 27th.
- Attend as many Recruitment events as possible. These events will occur the evenings of August 28 - September 1st.
- Check out all of the Chapters and their members.
- Ask questions about the process, financial obligations, the time required, community service, athletics, academics, benefits, etc.
- Choose the Chapter that fits you and what you are looking for in a sorority.
- Complete the proper paperwork with Panhellenic at the end of the week.
- Attend Bid Distribution on Monday September 1st.
- Find out the time and location of the first meeting for New Members.

*During New Student Orientation, there will be information
on joining the [g] movement & Nevada Greek Community.
Open Sorority Recruitment.
**OPEN RECRUITMENT takes place year round.
Please contact the Office of Greek Life or individual organizations for more information.
Each sorority chooses when they will host recruitment events. Some will have events the first week of the semester and others may wait until later in the year. Informal or Open Recruitment allows each chapter to showcase their organization at a time that is best for them within the academic year. Attending a recruitment event can be as simple as seeing a flyer on campus and attending the advertised events, you may also choose to complete a recruitment interest form, which will then be distributed to those chapters that are particpating in open recruitment.
- Complete a Recruitment Interest Form or attend an event sponsored by the individual sorority.
- Contact the sorority you are interested in.
- Attend as many Recruitment events as you can.
- Ask questions about the process, financial obligations, the time required, community service, athletics, academics, benefits, etc.
- Choose the Chapter that fits you and what you are looking for in a fraternity.
- Accept the invitation to join the chapter
- Find out the time and location of the first meeting for New Members
