IFC Fraternity Recruitment 2009

UPDATED: Master list of recruitment events

Fraternity Recruitment takes place after the first two weeks of each semester and is goverened by the Interfraternity Council (IFC). The IFC recruitment process for Fall 2009 will begin on September 6th with tours of the individual chapters houses and will culminate on September 18th with a Bid Day celebration at which all bew members will have the opportunity to meet and greet with the IFC community. From the September 6th to the 17th, individual chapters will have information tables throughout campus about thier respective chapters and a list of events you can attend to learn more about them.

To obtain more information, you can complete a fraternity interest form and stop by the [G]movement tables during summer orientation and the first two weeks of school to recieve a schedule of events.

To participate in formal recruitment, please follow the steps noted below:

  1. Complete a Fraternity Interest form.
  2. Pick up a master list of recruitment events at the [g]movement tables during freshmen orientation, move -in, or during the first two weeks of school.
  3. Attend the Fraternity House Tours on Sunday September 6th, at 4pm in front of the Joe Crowley Student Union.
  4. Contact the fraternity you are interested in through the contacts list on this website or via information given out at [g]movemnt tables.
  5. Attend as many Recruitment events as you can. LIST OF EVENTS Fall 2009
  6. Ask questions about the process, financial obligations, the time required, community service, athletics, academics, benefits, etc.
  7. Choose the Chapter that fits you and what you are looking for in a fraternity.
  8. Sign a "Bid Card" with the Chapter and the Interfraternal Council (IFC).
  9. Attend Bid Day!
  10. Find out the time and location of the first meeting for Pledges/New Members of the chapter you have chosen to associate/pledge with.
