2014 Girls Math & Technology Camp Schedule for Year 1* Campers

*Year 1 refers to girls entering grade 7 in the fall

Daily Wake-Up and Bedtime Routine

[Meals will take place in the Down Under Café (campus cafeteria) unless otherwise noted.]

  • 7:10 a.m.: Wake-up notification
  • 7:50 a.m.: Meet to go to breakfast
  • 8:35 a.m.: Meet to go to the College of Education
  • 5:20 p.m.: Meet to go to dinner
  • 6:20 p.m.: Meet to return from dinner
  • 10:00 p.m.: In own room for the night
  • 10:30 p.m.: Bedtime (lights out, rooms quiet)

ALL SESSIONS—INCLUDING CAMPER REGISTRATION—WILL BE HELD IN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (WRB) 2021 UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

Note: "Spare time" designations consist of structured, supervised options.

Sunday, July 13

  • 3:30-5:00 p.m.: Dorm check-in (see Information Sheet for details); dinner on own (none provided- food options available on ground floor of residence hall and other places nearby)
  • 5:00-5:30 p.m.: Camper registration-Last names A-H 5:00; I-N 5:10; O-Z 5:20: Please enter room only at assigned time. [Baylee, Heather, Nicole]
  • 5:30 p.m.: Joint session with parents [Lynda]
    •   Introduction of camp staff [WRB 2030] •   Overview of camp activities and operation [WRB 2030]
    •   Question-and-answer session [WRB 2030]
    •   Informal socializing with light refreshments [WRB 4001]
  • 7:00 p.m.: Campers only
    •   Pre-assessment measures of girls' attitudes related to math/technology [Nicole]
    •   Get-acquainted/team-building activities [Baylee]
    •   Problem solving/reasoning task [Nicole]
  • 8:30 p.m.: Return to dorms
