Abstract:
This ESRI real number GRID shows average dilation component
of movement from Quaternary faults in the western United
States. The data is derived from the shapefile QfaultsWUS,
which is itself a product of the U.S.G.S. Quaternary Fault
database available at http: HTTP://earthquake.usgs.gov/qfaults .
The average dilation (measured in nanometers per year) is
measured over a 20 x 20 km grid cell. The slip rate, rake,
and type of movement is measured for some faults but are
not constrained and have been estimated for many others.
