Research includes application of a wide variety of techniques to the understanding of the origin of Carlin-type gold deposits; high-and low-sulfidation epithermal vein deposits; Au-Cu porphyry deposits and volcanic systems of the Pacific Rim as analogues to porphyry and vein deposits.
The Ralph Roberts Center for Research in Economic Geology (CREG) is part of the Dept. of Geological Sciences and Engineering and is sponsored and funded by mineral companies active around the world. CREG supports numerous student research projects on mineral deposits. Please note that we have recently appointed Dr. Muntean as the new director, and the old webpage will be updated soon.
