Research Statement

My interests are in applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and landscape ecology to natural resource management. My thesis research examines ecosystem function and visual function on reclaimed mine lands using spatial methods and terrain metrics. Dr. Jill Heaton is my advisor. This year I am a research assistant on the Newmont scholarship. Last year I served as a teaching assistant for the Cartography and Introduction to GIS courses.
