225 INTRODUCTION TO GAMING MANAGEMENT   3 credits
Introduction to business and management dimensions of casino operations including marketing, finance, human resource development, key operational issues, legal and regulatory issues, and gaming proliferation.

415, 615 COMMERCIAL GAMING LAW    3 credits
Federal and state law that defines and shapes commercial gaming industries including casinos, lotteries and Indian gaming. Topics include definitions, taxation, regulation, licensing and advertising.
Prerequisite: Junior-level standing.

425, 625 ACCOUNTING FOR THE GAMING INDUSTRY    3 credits
Financial reporting systems, internal controls, managerial reporting, and the federal and state regulations that impact accounting in a casino environment.
Prerequisites:
ACC 201, 202.

430, 630 GAMING MANAGEMENT    3 credits
Administration and operation of casino gaming. Topics include human resource management, casino operations, strategic management, capital allocation decisions, customer relations and marketing.
Prerequisite:
MGRS 323.

440, 640 CASINO MARKETING    3 credits
Applications of marketing concepts to a casino operation. Topics include marketing a property, individual products, evaluating special promotions, convention sales, entertainment and advertising.
Prerequisite:
MGRS 310.

450, 650 CASINO INDUSTRY REGULATION    3 credits
Exploration of economic and social reasoning of gaming regulation in U.S. jurisdictions and abroad.  Topics include the history of gaming regulation, models of industry regulation, alternative forms of industry regulation, ensuring the integrity of gaming regulation, and the competitive consequences of jurisdictional differences in gaming regulation.
Prerequisite: Junior-level standing.

460, 660 TOURISM MARKETING    3 credits
Advanced study of marketing principles applied to trends in the tourism industry and destination resorts through a strategic marketing perspective.
Prerequisite:
MGRS 310.

470, 670 QUANTITATIVE METHODS AND APPLICATIONS IN CASINO GAMING    3 credits
Probability theory and quantitative methods in a casino gaming operation including game theory, odds of games, and use of analysis for management, marketing and economic decisions.
Prerequisites:
E C 261, E C 262, MGRS 352.

490, 690 INTERNSHIP    3 credits (Maximum of 6 credits)
Coordinated work-study program in gaming management and operations under the directions of a faculty adviser. Prerequisites:
E C 411, senior standing.

495, 695 SPECIAL TOPICS IN GAMING MANAGEMENT   3 credits
Study of major topic or issue in gaming management. Maximum of 9 credits when content differs.
Prerequisites:
E C 411, senior standing.
