Overview for Medical Students
Medical Students are considered for the following programs:
- Federal Perkins Loan
Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
Federal Graduate PLUS Loan
If you would like to borrow a Stafford Loan, logon to MyNEVADA to accept. If you would like to borrow a Graduate PLUS Loan, complete the Graduate PLUS Loan Activation Form (Printable Form). These forms are also available at the front desk of our office. New Borrowers:
If you are a first-time Stafford or Grad PLUS loan borrower at this University, you are required to complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) as indicated in the instructions for the loan.
- You may complete the Master Promissory Note online with the lender.
- Entrance Counseling is required.
- Perkins Loan Promissory Notes are mailed in July from the Cashier's Office.
Most medical students will have their entire Cost of Attendance met with financial aid and scholarships. We realize that medical school is extremely time consuming and costly and our office makes every effort to minimize problems for our medical students.
AAMC FIRST is a comprehensive, three-part program developed by the AAMC to assist premedical and medical students in their planning for the financial aspects of their medical education. Divided into three sections - The Premedical School Years, The Medical School Years, and Residency and Early Practice Years - AAMC FIRST provides practical and comprehensive information specifically tailored to students throughout their medical education. This online resource contains information about making a successful transition to medical school, credit and consumer debt, types of financial aid, the financial aid application process, and relevant reference materials.

School Of Medicine Scholarship Application
The School of Medicine Scholarship Application is sent to students upon admission to the medical school. All scholarships are need-based and require students to submit income and asset information to determine eligibility. The applications should be returned promptly to the School of Medicine's Office of Admissions and Student Affairs.
