Student Budgets
Student budgets try to estimate the full cost of a university education
While tuition and fees represent a large share of college costs, there are other costs that should be considered when estimating expenses. For example:
- Room: Residence hall fees or other housing expenses
- Board: A campus meal plan, groceries and other food expenses
- Books & Supplies: Textbooks, notebooks, calculators, pens
- Personal: Living essentials, entertainment and miscellaneous expenses
- Transportation: Car payments, insurance, fuel costs
The following tables contain official figures for student budgets developed by the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. These amounts are used to calculate potential student loans.
