Tribal Higher Education Program

Assistance is available for students from tribal backgrounds

The Native American Alumni Scholarship Application is now available. Students qualifying for this scholarship will find the application as part of the Nevada Alumni Scholarship Application. Just check the Native American Alumni box, enter your tribal information and complete the application. We have extended the deadline beyond February 1st, so be sure to fill it out if you are eligible.

Tribal Higher Education Program
Financial Needs Analysis Form

The Northern Nevada American Indian Higher Education Collaborative has approved a needs-analysis form to be used to apply for tribal financial assistance. It is a common form that will be used by most of our Northern Nevada Tribes. Prior to submitting this form to our office, be sure that you have successfully submitted your FAFSA.

  • Checklist:
    • Submit your FAFSA application for the new academic year.
    • Check MyNEVADA to be sure you have a completed financial aid file.
    • As an entering freshman or transfer student, be sure you have been admitted to the institution
  • Timeline for the University's document submissions
    • Available January 1st – Complete the FAFSA early each year
    • February 1st – University Scholarship Application due
    • June 15 – Deadline for students admitted prior to June 1st to register for classes or submit missing documents to maintain Financial Aid offer
    • 10 business days – timeline for our office to process any incoming documents
