Brief Bio: Shanon Taylor is an Assistant Professor of Special Education in the College of Education. Shanon received a B.A. in 1991 in Liberal Arts for Professional Education from Christian Brothers University, an M.Ed. in 1994 in Special Education from Memphis State University and an Ed.D. in 2003 in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership from The University of Memphis. She teaches courses in the areas of behavior management, autism, and general special education issues. Her research interests include school choice as it impacts students with disabilities, behavior management, teacher education, and doctoral education and the special education professoriate. Her work has been published in academic journals such as Teacher Education and Special Education, Remedial and Special Education , the Journal of School Choice, and the Journal of Law and Education. She previously served as the senator from the College of Education in 2007-2008, and has served on the Campus Affairs Committee from 2009-present and is the current chair of the committee.
