Brief Bio: Dr. Rafik Beekun is Professor of Management and Strategy at the University of Nevada, and Co-Director, Center for Corporate Governance and Business Ethics. He has published 4 books (translated in multiple languages) and numerous academic articles in strategic management, business ethics, corporate governance, and leadership. At UNR, he currently teaches corporate strategy, leadership, ethics, and international business topics to MBA and undergraduate students He has also served as a Senior Fulbright scholar, and over the past decade and a half, has trained many executives in strategic management and leadership globally in 14 countries. Within the State of Nevada, he spent four years training the state agency heads in the areas of strategic planning. At the University of Nevada, he has served on the strategic planning committee for the College of Business), and as Chair of the College Assessment Committee. He has been nominated several times for the best teacher award in the College of Business. Beekun earned a B.A. and M.A. from Columbia University, and an MBA and Ph.D. in Organization Theory from the University of Texas at Austin.
