ANOTHER REMINDER –

 Work continues to upgrade and strengthen the reliability of the electrical system that serves much of the power needs for the University’s main campus in Reno. While reliability of the system has been restored, further maintenance work is needed on the approximately 65-year-old system to sustain its reliability.

A scheduled power outage, anticipated to last 10 hours, will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2013, beginning at 7:00 a.m., to accommodate needed maintenance on the system’s the 4,160 volt and 24,900 volt equipment. Power is distributed through four primary utility service locations on campus and this outage will affect three of the four. A list of the buildings anticipated to be impacted is below.

 To minimize impact, this maintenance is scheduled on a weekend between the spring and summer semesters, at a time for which heating and air conditioning is typically not necessary. Please avoid scheduling campus activities and events on June 1 and share this information with others in your college or division who should be aware, including those with scheduling responsibilities.
