Start times will adjust to 5PM when daylight savings changes occur on November 2, 2008 and will move back to 7PM March 8, 2009.

The mission of the Campus Escort Service is to provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable escorts for the University of Nevada, Reno students, staff, faculty, and visitors to their vehicles, residence, or any facility on campus or within a two mile radius from the perimeter of the University campus.
Our objective is to provide a safe transportation alternative to people on campus after normal business hours and to maintain a safe campus. In order to provide these services through walking or driving, our courtesy starts with a smile and ends with a safe arrival at the destination.
The service employs over 30 specially trained students as Campus Escorts. Every student working for this service will have passed a Federal and State fingerprint back ground check. Starting in January 2006, officers will have undergone self-defense training, a professional driving course, and basic CPR/First Aid care. Officers are easily recognized by their distinct uniforms, which include a white Campus Escort polo shirt and navy blue B.D.U. pants. For safety reasons, all escorts remain in radio contact with our dispatcher at all times. Operational tools consist of: a fleet of 7 vehicles (6 vans and 1 sedan); log sheets for all activity; flashlights; automotive jump boxes; Mojave 2.0 cycles with head and tail lamps; Motorola radios; and a cellular phone.
The vision of the Campus Escort Service is to become the most well-known and utilized student-operated service on campus and belong to a national group of organized Campus Escort Services/Safe Ride Programs that will provide for advancement of standards nationwide. Our vision is to become a model escort service that will be duplicated on other campuses around the country. By providing excellent and knowledgeable cutomer service, adhering to a high standard of safety, respecting one another and our patrons, and having fun we will make the University a safer place.
