REPORTING AN EMERGENCY TO 911
- Give your name, location (building & room), and phone extension.
- Describe the emergency: what is it, how did it happen, when did it happen.
- Explain whether the source of risk is under control.
- Do not hang up until instructed to do so.
BUILDING EVACUATION PROCEDURES
- Remain calm and walk quickly — do not run — to the nearest safe exit.
- If time permits, turn off power to equipment and close doors.
- Use stairways to exit, do not use elevators.
- Proceed to the designated Emergency Assembly Point (a specific place assigned to you department; see your department emergency coordinator) and wait for instructions.
- Follow instructions of emergency personnel.
