The College of Education prepares undergraduate students and graduate students who have degrees in other fields to be teachers in:

  • Early Childhood Education
    Children from birth through second grade in school and community settings.
  • Elementary Education
    Children from kindergarten through grade six, or to grade eight if you have a content area major.
  • Secondary Education
    Students in grades seven through twelve in particular teaching areas, depending on your interests and preparation.
  • Special Education
    Students with disabilities in grades kindergarten through grade twelve. Specializations in specific disabilities and in early childhood education are available at the graduate level.
  • Integrated Elementary and Special Education
    A double major in teaching elementary students in kindergarten through sixth grade in general classrooms and in teaching students with disabilities in kindergarten through twelfth grade.
