Shawn Pennell earned her Master's degree in Curriculum, Teaching & Learning with an emphasis in Educational Technology from the University of Nevada, Reno. She has been a classroom teacher in both brick and mortar as well as virtual environments. She holds a dual Bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Affairs and has a secondary teaching license in social studies. She has worked in the Raggio Research Center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education as a computer lab assistant on a technology grant, a graduate assistant on the Nevada K.E.E.P Program, an LOA and administrative faculty on the Nevada Pathway Leadership Project (Pathway Project), the Nevada Educators Really Doing Science (NERDS) grant, and the Northern Nevada English Learning Initiative (NNELI) grant. She is well-versed in 21st century teaching and learning and works well with Washoe County School District such a capacity.
