The Department of Educational Specialties (EDS) provides undergraduate, masters and doctoral education focusing on teaching diverse learners in contemporary educational contexts. Programs include literacy studies, special education, teaching English to speakers of other languages, multicultural education, and inclusive pedagogy for diverse learners.

 

The department is made up of over 20 tenure-line and grant-funded faculty who teach, do research and provide service with the aim of transforming educational practices to maximize learning opportunities and promote educational equity.
