A Program to Recruit Students into Teacher Education
Dean's Future Scholars Nets $200,000 AT&T Aspire Grant
The College of Education at the University of Nevada, Reno and the public school districts are cooperatively involved in a program to recruit diverse students into teacher education.
The basic idea of the Dean’s Future Scholars Program is that before students can consider teaching as career, they must first believe that college is a possibility for them. Although a major goal of this program is to recruit students into teacher education, a more basic purpose is first to interest students in going on to higher education, and in particular the University of Nevada, Reno.
