Biography

Elisa Storke, MA currently works as a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Instructor specializing in: K-12 methods of instruction for ELLs, bilingualism and bilingual education, Latino education in U.S. schools, second language acquisition, language assessment, curriculum development and evaluation for second language learning for both undergraduates and graduate students at the University of Nevada, Reno since 2006. She has been working with both pre-service and in-service teachers in various capacities since 2003, as she was a former dual language teacher for the Washoe County School District's first Two-Way Immersion program. She received her TESOL Master of Arts Degree in December of 2005 and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning, with an emphasis on developing English Learner's Academic Language during content instruction, specifically sheltered science inquiry. She has also presented at several national and international conferences including: CATESOL, TESOL, CABE, NSTA, and ASTE.
