A confirmation email will be sent to you within 24 hours of the test with instructions on how to pay and the location of the test site. Please check your spam box before contacting the office.

General Examinations are purchased online with a credit card. Registration opens 5 weeks prior to test date. Special Exams are paid for with a money order or cashiers check the day of the exam. We will not accept personal checks, cash, or credit cards at the testing site (only cashiers check or money orders).

You can register for as many exams as you choose. There is no cap to the number of exams you can take in a year. Special Examination test takers can retake a test immediately upon notification of a failed exam. There are no discounted rates for retaking an exam, full fees will be required.  The retake must be completed within the original allotted time (2 hours and 15minutes). Any unfinished exams will be collected and graded when time expires.

We offer all 3 exams in one exam booklet. You will take the specific exam(s) you need, and we will grade however many you paid for.

Passing scores of 70% must be attained on each examination.

(1) Your teacher's license number (this is not your Social Security Number), (2) a government issued photo ID, and (3) your e-mailed admission ticket - for General Exams Only. To look up your license number, visit the Nevada teacher search page.

No, we provide pencils, Scantrons, and the exam booklets.

The examinations are aligned with the study guide, Nevada School Law for Teachers, by the Educational Leadership Department/UNR, which covers all three examination areas. The guide has an orange cover. If any other study guide is used beside this guide with the orange cover, students will be missing necessary study material.

No, we do not provide any practice questions. There is an expectation that reading and studying the written content provided in the Study Guide should be sufficient to pass the examinations.

Each exam is 50-70 questions long. The format is Multiple Choice and True/False only.

You will have 2 hours and 15 minutes. Most people can take all 3 exams in about 1.5 hours.

General Examinations:

Regular Scoring - Results reported to the NV Department of Education and postmarked to you within 6 weeks: One exam - $25.00; Two exams - $40.00; Three exams - $55.00

Expedited Scoring - Results reported to the NV Department of Education and postmarked to you within 3-5 business days: One exam - $35.00; Two exams - $60.00; Three exams - $85.00. As an additional courtesy for those who paid for expedited scoring, we will respond to any email requests for unofficial results by the Thursday following your exam. We DO NOT automatically email unofficial results - we have to first receive an emailed request. We will not release unofficial results with regular scoring.

You will receive a Confirmation Email/Admission Ticket prior to your exam date. You need to print that off and bring it with you to the exam (please check your junk mail folder regularly).

Special Examinations:

The additional $75 fee includes immediate scoring. Reno test takers will receive their confirmation letter at the time of testing, if they choose to wait. Las Vegas test takers will receive a verbal notification of their scores and will receive the official results letter postmarked within 2 business days after taking the exam. The Department of Education and the District indicated at time of registration will also be notified within 2 business days.

You will receive an official results letter in the mail regarding results following each test taken. Please keep this "Results Memo" for your records. Additional copies requested will be subject to a $10 charge.
