College of Education graduate degrees include emphases in addiction counseling, college student development/counseling in higher education, community counseling, marriage and family counseling, school counseling, educational psychology, and information technology in education.
Graduate interdisciplinary specialization and undergraduate interdisciplinary minor programs in developmental disabilities are administered by the Nevada Center for Excellence in Disabilities (NCED) through the College of Education
The Ph.D. program in Education prepares you at an advanced level to work in the professorial ranks of higher education or assume positions of leadership in schools and agencies.

This innovative program prepares you to be an elementary teacher in Nevada for grades K-8. In addition, you earn an additional license or endorsement that enables you to be effective and prepared for today’s diverse classrooms: (1) early childhood education, (2) special education, and/or (3) English as a second language.

If you wish to teach in grades K-12 in Nevada you must have a teaching license. A license is issued by the Nevada Department of Education following completion of a recognized teacher preparation program.
This program is designed for both native and non-native speakers of English who wish to teach ESL or EFL.
