Bi-Annual Exams

We strongly recommend that all test takers read the entire website in order to have a  smooth testing experience.

If you are registering for an exam and are uncertain of how many you may need, please contact the Department of Education, Reno (775) 687-9115 & Las Vegas: (702) 486-6458, to find out which exams you must take. You may also obtain provision information from the Teacher Licensure website. It is your responsibility to take the tests you need in order to remove the proper provisions from your license.  Note: The Department of Education answers their phones between the hours of 1-4 p.m.

You will receive a Confirmation e-mail/ Admission Ticket from nvlaw@unr.edu within 24-48 hours of registering for the exam. If you have not received your admissions ticket on the Friday before test date please check your junk mail for misplacement. Please send an email to NVLAW@unr.edu.  Please be patient. Please PRINT the e-mail and bring it to your exam, along with you license number and government issued ID. We supply the scantron and pencils.

Religious/Military Exceptions

Please send an email to nvlaw@unr.edu for further information.

Exceptions may be made to the fee schedule based on appropriate documentation from a religious leader or superior officer.

Fee Schedule

Regular Fee: Results are postmarked & reported to Department of Education, as well as School Districts/Colleges if requested on scantron, within six weeks.

  • 1 Exam = $25
  • 2 Exams = $40
  • 3 Exams = $55

There is a $15 fee if you mark in the test booklet.

Expedited Fee: Results are post marked & reported to Department of Education, as well as School Districts/Colleges if requested on scantron, within 5 business days.

  • 1 Exam = $35
  • 2 Exams = $60
  • 3 Exams = $85

There is a $15 fee if you mark in the test booklet.

Expedited payments (only) include the option of sending an email to nvlaw@unr.edu on the Thursday AFTER testing. We will respond to your email with an unofficial notification of results - this is ONLY available to those testers who have paid for expedited scoring. If you send the request prior to Thursday - it will be deleted. We have no way to track early requests.

Credits from previous scheduled exams: Our refund policy has changed, but we will honor past credits for 365 days. If you register now for an exam and cannot attend you must email us at:nvlaw@unr.edu and inform us of your cancellation. Include name, date of registration and location. You must notify us via email at NVLAW@unr.edu prior to the exam!

REFUNDS: PLEASE NOTIFY KIMBERLY COX at nvlaw@unr.edu if you unable to attend the Las Vegas or Reno May 2, 2015 Exam  immediately for a refund. We will continue to honor previous credits,but will be refunding going forward.
