Module One - Alcohol

Alcohol addresses the effects of alcohol on reproduction and fertility; the developing fetus; the course of pregnancy; guidelines for medical withdrawal; postpartum care; and the neonate. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) is described, inclusive of the new categories for diagnosis presented by the Institute of Medicine. Prior to the didactic portion of this module, participants are asked to complete an exercise testing their knowledge of drug categories and effects.
