ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
  1. Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or equivalent over the last two years of undergraduate study is required.

  2. The GRE is not required for admission.

  3. Candidates whose native language is not English must have a TOEFL score of 550 or above.

  4. Candidates who are native speakers of English must have a minimum of 2 years of a foreign language at the college level or an equivalent language experience. The equivalent second language proficiency must be verified by a foreign language instructor of that language at the college level. English will satisfy this requirement for non-native speakers of English.
The language requirement may be pursued concurrently with the master's program, but credits taken to fulfill it do not count towards the degree.

  5. An undergraduate major or minor in a relevant field (English, linguistics, education, or a modern language other than English) is desirable but not required.

  6. Under special circumstances, at the discretion of the program director, students may be admitted under a prescribed program. Once admitted, students are assigned an advisor.

  7. There are no deadlines. Applications accepted year-round.
