Welcome to the Newton Network web site!

The Newton Network is designed to serve the teachers of Nevada by providing opportunities and communication to which they might not otherwise have access.

This web site is part of a three-tiered system of connectivity for educators around Nevada:

  1. The first level of communication is this web site to which everyone has access. Educators may look up any of the higher education contacts and connect with the many professional development, classroom support, and possible grant-related opportunities offered by the universities and colleges around Nevada. You can navigate our web site using the quick-link menu at the top and bottom of each page.

  2. The second level of communication is an "E-Newsletter," which is distributed to the teachers who have provided their email addresses to our database. This newsletter provides information about the kinds of opportunities mentioned above. Our newsletters are also available on our web site.

  3. The third level of communication is our backup for when time-critical issues arise. For example, many times when a new grant has been approved, the grantee/researchers usually need to get participants involved right away in order to meet required schedules. In order to keep from overloading teachers with unnecessary email, this third tier process will only be implemented for the time-critical issues. Our goal is to have at least one contact teacher in each school building so that teacher can get information out to his or her peers as appropriate. However, we invite everyone who wants a newsletter for themselves to sign up here. If you don't think you have a contact person at your school, and you would like to do this, please submit a contact form or just email Robert Newbury or Michael Leverington.

Once again, the Newton Network is designed to serve and support teachers around Nevada by providing them contacts and information. However, as part of our service and in order to minimize bothering teachers with unneeded messages, we will be the single point of communication to the teachers and will not provide any teacher's email to anyone else.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Best Regards to All Our Teachers,

Robert Newbury, M.S. and Michael Leverington, M.A.
