The NNWP's
Advanced Summer Institute
What happens during an
Advanced Summer Institute?
Each summer, the Northern Nevada Writing Project is committed to
offering a special class, available just to teachers who have graduated
from a prior Summer Institute. These teacher consultants come
together and work on a specialty project. These specialty projects
are designed to become the new initiatives that keep our program
thriving.

Summer 2006 |
|
In 2007, we are hosting two summer advanced institutes.
-
One institute will work
with the new lesson and resource format we're using on-line at
WritingFix. Participants can earn stipends for lessons and
resources developed to be posted on-line for others to use.
Leader: Leah Keuscher
-
The second institute will develop
new trait-based resources for K-12th grade teachers. These
resources will be developed collaboratively among the teachers who
participate. Leader: Dena Harrison

- In 2006, we offered our second 2-credit Technology Matters
Advanced Summer Institute. Leah Keuscher led the class.
8 TCs attended and created the sample lessons that will be used in
our new spring inservice class in 2007. Their example
