Student Member Section of the Nevada Association for the Education of Young Children
Are you a student in ECE, HDFS, or a related field? Are youinterested in growing your leadership skills? Then perhaps the Student Member Section is for you!
In 2006, the Nevada AEYC launched new Student Member Sections (SMS) to support Early Care and Education students. These groups of student members work with faculty advisors at Nevada's Universities and Community Colleges to develop goals and objectives, conduct regular meetings, sponsor special events, and provide support and networking opportunities for young and emerging ECE professionals.
The SMS function both as student organizations on their respective campuses, as well as members of the Nevada AEYC. Students who are currently members of NevAEYC are encouraged to participate in the SMS on their campuses. A representative of each SMS attends the NevAEYC Governing Board meetings and acts as liaison for her student group.
The University of Nevada, Reno, NevAEYC Faculty Contact is Dr. Melissa Burnham, Associate Professor, Human Development and Family Studies (775) 784-7012
