Master's Degree Culminating Experiences

Students completing master's degrees in any EDS program must engage in a culminating experience before graduating. This is usually completed in your last semester. Depending on your program of study and academic area, the requirement may take the form of a research project, comprehensive exam, or advanced portfolio.

Descriptions of the requirements for culminating experiences are linked at right in PDF format (Acrobat Reader required). In some cases, descriptions may be included in a program's application and advisement manual.

The final decision about the format of the culminating experience is made by your Advisory Examining Committee. All questions you have about the culminating experience should be directed to your advisor.
