Academic Programs
For an Undergraduate student looking for a rewarding career as a teacher, the Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning Department offers you a Bachelor of Science in elementary education or secondary education offers a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Art degree.
EDU courses at the 100 and 200 levels are open to all interested students who want to learn about becoming an educator. Admission to Teacher Education is required before you enroll in 300 and 400 level courses. The elementary and secondary programs culminate to a full-time, semester-long supervised internship where you slowly assume the full teaching responsibilities in a public school classroom.
Undergraduate Licensure Programs
•Elementary Education: The elementary program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree in the College of Education (128 undergraduate credits). The program is designed for students who wish to teach in grades K-8 in Nevada . The required internship semester is completed as part of the bachelor's degree. •Secondary Education: The secondary education program leads to a Bachelor degree of Arts or a Bachelor degree of Science in the College of Education (128 undergraduate credits). Graduates of this program must complete an additional internship semester (following graduation) to meet licensure requirement and be prepared to teach a specific subject in grades 7-12 in Nevada . Students must select a teaching major (in a field such as Math, English, Social Studies, General Sciences, etc.). For more information, go to Secondary Education program manual. Major & Minor list.

Graduate Level Licensure Programs
Master’s Degree in Education with First-Time Licensure courses included for licensure in:
Elementary Education (grades K-8) coursework meeting state licensure requirements can be done concurrently with the certification courses in education.
Secondary Education (grades 7-12) in a specific subject; coursework meeting state licensure requirements for content teaching areas (e.g. English, History, Social Studies, Global Languages, Art, Music, Sciences, Mathematics) can be done concurrently with the certification courses in education.
Secondary Professional Degree in a specific subject, coursework meeting state licensure requirements for content teaching areas (e.g. English, History, Social Studies, Global Languages, Art, Music, Sciences, Mathematics.)
