Biographical Information

Ph.D. from Duquesne University

 

Dr. Christian Conte joined the Department of Counseling & Educational Psychology in the fall of 2006. He has amassed 10,000 hours of clinical counseling and specializes in theories and techniques. Dr. Conte has delivered state, national and international presentations, along with publishing book chapters and refereed journal articles on a variety of subjects. His current research involves applying his depth-counseling approach to domestic violence offenders in South Lake Tahoe, CA.

Teaching / Interest

Dr. Conte teaches Counseling Theories and the Practicum Courses. He is passionate about having students develop sound theoretical foundations for their counseling careers. His constructivist pedagogy allows him to meet students where they are and develop theoretical orientations that match their intellect and personalities. Dr. Conte's classes are dynamic and creative, as he seeks to internally motivate students to fulfill their potential to become empathetic and compassionate counselors.
