GRE requirements for the M.A. degree (Counseling emphases) vary by undergraduate GPA:
- GPA of 3.2+ requires 5th percentile GRE scores in Verbal and Quantitative sections;
- GPA of 3.0 - 3.2 requires 10th percentile GRE scores in Verbal and Quantitative sections;
- GPA of 2.75 - 3.0 requires 16th percentile GRE scores in Verbal and Quantitative sections:
For Example, the 5th percentile means that you must score above the bottom 5% of students taking the exam. In other words, the higher your GPA the lower your GRE scores can be. If a student with graduate special status chooses to enroll in CEP courses, and is later admitted to regular graduate standing, up to nine graduate credits may be applied to the program of study toward a degree (see the University of Nevada, Reno General Catalog for details regarding graduate special status).
