Images Revisited

Let's take another look at the properties of images and what else you can do with them.

Open up the Image Properties window by double-clicking on the image you want to format.

• Type:- The image's format. If it isn't a GIF or JPEG, then it will be saved as whichever one is selected because they are the most popular/supported picture formats on the web.
• Alignment:- Determines where the text adjacent to the image will be displayed. Here are some examples:

bottom	middle	top
absbottom	absmiddle	texttop
baseline	left. This option allows line wrapping and puts the picture on the right. It will wrap all the way around the image...	right. This option is just like LEFT, but puts the picture on the right. It also supports line wrapping all the way around the image

The top 3 options (bottom, middle, top) are the most widely supported by web browsers; the rest are specific to some other web browsers. Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer both support all these options.

• Horizontal Spacing- Sets the spacing in pixels between the picture and adjacent text on the same line.
• Vertical Spacing- Sets the spacing in pixels between the picture and adjacent text that is on lines above or below the picture.
• Border Thickness- Places a border around the picture of the set value.
• Low-Res- If the viewers graphic capabilities can't handle the picture, they will be sent a lower-resolution picture that is specified here.
• Text- If for any reason the viewer can't view the picture whether they be using a text browser or if the picture isn't available, they will see the text that is placed here instead.
• URL- Lets you specify a URL to send the user to when they click on the picture. Basically sets up the picture as a link. :)
• Target Frame- If you are using frames, let's you specify the frame to display the linked page in.
