Meet Al Sacco, Jr. in Fall 2024

Al Sacco, Jr., an American chemical engineer who flew aboard the Columbia Space Shuttle as a Payload Specialist on mission STS-73 in 1995, will visit campus as part of the Discover Science Lecture Series to present his designated Milt D. Glick Lecture, "16 Days in Space" in Fall 2024. Registration for the event will open in August.

What is the Discover Science Lecture Series?

The Discover Science Lecture Series was founded by the College of Science in 2010, with the goal of bringing the country's top scientists to the University to share their knowledge, research and wisdom with the community.

Past speakers in the series include astrophysicists Michio Kaku and Neil deGrasse Tyson; Robert Ballard, who discovered the wreck of the Titanic; and Bill Nye the Science Guy.

All Discover Science Lecture Series events are free and open to the public, with a reception following the lecture. Registration is required to attend.
