University Veterans Coalition (UVC)

Mission

To serve the needs of veterans entering college, to integrate the veteran and civilian communities, and to develop and disseminate knowledge of veterans’ experiences
Goals

• Facilitate student veterans’ transition to college:
• Link student veterans to the university community and to local veterans’ services and organizations
• Educate the university community on the experiences and needs of student veterans
• Plan for a future Student Veterans’ Center on the campus of UNR
• Join the university with the broader community in our efforts to serve, integrate, and understand veterans
• Foster and support interdisciplinary research on veterans
• Develop a curriculum based on veterans’ experiences that ultimately leads to a Certificate in Veterans  Studies
