New Student Session Details
Each freshmen session is a two day, one night experience where students gain valuable information to ease their transition to the University. There are sessions on academic expectations, campus recreation & wellness, and activities & involvement. Each session is limited to 250 students and has open time for students to take care of business while on campus.
Freshmen students who participate in orientation are better prepared, experience fewer problems, and generally have a very positive feeling about their experiences at NEVADA.
Students participating in the DIRECTIONS program should leave with:
- An individualized academic plan for first year success
- An individualized plan for long term academic and personal success & development
- An understanding of the great traditions and history of the University of Nevada
- Prepared to transition to the lifestyle of a healthy, successful University student
- Prepared to meet the expectations of being a member of the University community
- Awareness and connection to University resources and programs to ensure success
This program is for students and is designed as a residential program with daytime and evening activities.
