Master of Science in Counseling and Educational Psychology, IT Emphasis
The master of science degree (M.S.) in educational psychology is offered with an emphasis in information technology in education. This emphasis (40-42 credits) provides graduate level training for educators and prospective educators. The use of information technology in teaching and learning is the focus of this emphasis.
While a portion of the course work focuses on skill development, emphasis is on examining conceptual frameworks relating to the use of information technology in education. It is assumed that the typical student will have a background in education with an interest in exploring educational uses of information technology in the classroom. However, this is not a prerequisite for admission into the information technology in education emphasis.
- GPA of 2.75 or higher

- Qualified in the professional judgment of the program faculty
The specific curriculum requirements are adapted to the professional program and the needs of the student. Students should not enroll in any graduate-level course without first securing the approval of the department that such a course is acceptable toward a selected major or minor. All degree candidates are required to complete at least 15 credits in educational psychology (including one course in educational statistics), one educational research course, nine credits in information technology, three credits in counseling, and nine credits of electives. In addition, all students are required to take 1 to 3 credits of comprehensive examination.
