Computer Science and Engineering Computing Account

Students taking classes from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering are eligible for a computing account.

To request at CSE account, please fill out the online form.

For new faculty accounts or for help with your student account, please email ehelp@cse.unr.edu.

Changing your password

All faculty, students, and staff can change their CSE computing account password at any time. Please follow these steps in order to do so:

  1. Login to the banyan.cse.unr.edu server. This may be done either remotely or locally via SSH. From a terminal, issue the the following command: ssh banyan.cse.unr.edu
  2. At the prompt, you may change your password by typing: yppasswd
  3. Close your connection to banyan.cse.unr.edu and reconnect to test your new password.

Please report any problems you have in changing your password to root@cse.unr.edu.
