Tutor Application

We are always looking for qualified tutors to work at the Math Center.

Minimum qualifications:

1. Be a University of Nevada, Reno student enrolled in at least six credits.
2. Have completed Calculus I (Math 181 at UNR).
3. Have a superior GPA in mathematics and/or related courses.
4. Have good computer skills.
5. Must possess good interpersonal skills.
6. Have the ability to communicate English clearly and fluently.
 
*We generally don't hire first semester freshman due to the lack of
  experience with college courses.  

Steps for application:  

  • Fill out the application form and turn it in to the Math Center.
  • Make an appointment to take the Tutor Exams.  
    • The Math Center gives two exams to assess mathematical skills and knowledge.  Here is a study guide.  
  • Depending on your application and test scores we will call you for an interview.
